Furnitune uses a room photo to make furniture discovery more relevant. It is not building a library of your home: room photos are not stored on Furnitune’s servers.
Room analysis
Color palette extraction runs on your device. To classify room style, identify the room type, and detect furniture already in view, a downscaled copy of a selected photo, with location and camera metadata removed, may be sent through Furnitune’s analysis proxy to Google’s Gemini API for one-time processing. That processing is subject to Google’s Gemini API terms.
Furnitune does not store your room photos on its servers. If the online analysis service is unavailable, the app fails open to a limited on-device fallback instead of blocking the experience.
During a temporary, invite-only browser preview, the same bounded photo copy may be processed after a tester enters a private access code. The code is exchanged for a signed, expiring browser token; Furnitune does not store the code in browser storage. Access is limited to the Furnitune preview origin and ends automatically when the preview window expires.
App integrity and abuse prevention
When the native app requests online room analysis, it uses Apple App Attest on iOS or Google Play Integrity on Android to prove that the request came from a signed Furnitune installation and to prevent replay. This proof is cryptographically bound to the specific analysis request.
For iOS, Furnitune keeps a one-way hash of the per-install App Attest public-key identifier, the verified public key, Apple’s attestation receipt, and a security counter for up to 180 days after use. These are security credentials, not an advertising identifier, account, room photo, or location. Android Play Integrity tokens are checked per request and Furnitune does not retain a stable Android device identifier. Replayed challenge hashes are retained only briefly for security cleanup.
Information kept on your device
To let the app resume where you left off, Furnitune keeps bounded room analysis signals (such as palette and detected style), saved items, skipped items, filters, region choice, and learned taste signals in local app storage. Photo paths are never written into persisted app state. Metadata-free session copies may exist temporarily in the app-private cache; they are excluded from backups and purged on the next launch or when you change the room. Any app-cache input copy made by the system photo picker is deleted after analysis on a best-effort basis.
Local information is not uploaded to Furnitune’s servers as a user profile. You can remove local information by changing or resetting your room, clearing app data, or uninstalling the app. The operating system may evict native cache files sooner. The invite-only web preview does not persist room analysis or photo paths. It keeps only the signed preview-access token and its expiry in that browser until the token expires or site data is cleared.
Information you choose to send
If you contact Furnitune, we receive your email address and anything you include in the message. We use that information to reply, discuss catalog or affiliate opportunities, investigate issues, and improve the product. We retain correspondence only as long as reasonably needed for those purposes or to meet applicable legal obligations.
Service providers and technical data
Furnitune relies on hosting, database, storage, and room-analysis providers to deliver the website, app, catalog, and analysis proxy. Like most online services, those providers may process ordinary request information, such as IP address, browser type, timestamps, and error logs, to operate and secure their services. Furnitune self-hosts its website fonts and does not add advertising or analytics trackers. Furnitune does not sell room photos or local taste data.
Retailer and affiliate links
Furnitune may use affiliate links to third-party retailers. When you follow one, the retailer and any approved affiliate network may receive ordinary connection and referral information, including your IP address, and may use cookies or similar technologies under their own policies. Furnitune may earn a commission from a qualifying purchase, at no added cost to you.
